Our Restorative Practices Engagement Circle™ focuses on Restorative Leadership, the adaptive approach to leadership through relationship building. The academy’s goal is to support educators, parents, scholars and community members in the process of learning the history, philosophy and practice of restorative practices based on teachings from indigenous communities. Leaders will learn how restorative practices can be used to proactively develop meaningful relationships, repair harm and to value the voice and perspective of others. Educators, parents, scholars and community members alike will gain valuable knowledge about how restorative practices can create positive culture and climates.

Koinonia Leadership Academy partners with educational systems to foster meaningful relationships for academic and social success. We collaborate with schools and restorative practices practitioners to replace inequitable zero-tolerance policies with supportive, restorative practices.

We partner with youth and families, restorative justice organizations and community practitioners to transform the criminal legal system.
Youth Restorative Leadership
We partner with youth to co-create a variety of restorative leadership opportunities. This multi-generational approach is restorative in nature and provides mentorship and support for all participants.

Leadership Retreats
Introduction to Restorative Practices
This interactive session is designed to introduce leaders to the history, philosophy and practices of restorative justice/practices based on teachings from indigenous communities. Leaders will gain a better understanding of how restorative practices can be used as a proactive measure for building meaningful relationships as well as a responsive measure for repairing harm in school and community settings.
Restorative Practices Enagement Circle™
4-Day Retreat
This four-day interactive experience will educate leaders about the history and implementation of restorative practices Circles based on teachings from indigenous communities. Over the course of the four days, leaders will actively engage in the Circle process and develop strategies to implement Circles within their own settings. Leaders will also sharpen leadership and relationship building skills as they engage in self-reflective leadership, relationship and team building exercises.
Restorative Practices Engagement Circle™ Implementation
Leaders interested in Restorative Practices Implementation must have successfully completed the Introduction to Restorative Practices. Restorative Practices Implementation is an interactive session designed to build upon the introductory learnings as well as gaining a deeper knowledge of the specific components of restorative practices and its implementation across school and community settings.
